Can you believe it’s December? I can, but only because SAAM had a November to remember! The fall is always one of the busiest times of our campaign planning schedule, but it’s also when we start to see the tangible evidence of all our planning efforts.

Last week I had the opportunity to take the SAAM act on the road, and I was fortunate to be heading to one of my favorite places on the planet: Jersey. The great folks at the New Jersey Coalition Against Sexual Assault (NJCASA) host an ongoing training institute to educate and inform practitioners on sexual violence prevention and survivor-centered approaches.

Planning for Sexual Assault Awareness Month has entered the second trimester, so to speak, as we are now counting down less than 6 months to April 2013. Whoa baby, the time is flying! On the backstage side of things, we are still in limbo with a number of deadlines leading up to the release of resource materials online and by mail in January. But there have been many planning milestones in recent weeks, and I’d like to provide a sneak peak on the topic of our upcoming campaign resources: Healthy childhood sexual development. 

It’s been a busy summer of campaign planning, and the SAAM team at NSVRC is donning teal hard hats as we work on resource development, designing materials and website updates. It’s truly a campaign construction zone over here!

As the campaign comes together piece by piece, it becomes easier to see the complete vision for SAAM 2013. It’s exciting! With the campaign progressing, we are excited to share a few updates:

Let me paint a picture for you. You are sitting between family and friends, center of the aisle, that preferable distance from the stage. You are back far enough to take everything in but still see the closer details of the show. The curtain’s drawn, but the scene is set.
