The webinar – the first in a three-part series – will provide participants with an overview of one of the country’s worst human rights crises: the sexual abuse of prisoners. It will also highlight ways that advocates can expand services to these survivors, focusing on new opportunities created by the recently issued Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) standards. Webinar participants will have the chance to hear directly from survivors themselves on the dynamics and impact of this violence. This webinar is aimed at advocates and service providers – rape crisis center staff, counselors, and administrators – though anyone who works in the victim services field is encouraged to attend. Corrections officials, law enforcement, and other professionals in related fields are also invited. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.Mark your calendars for November 14, 2012 at 11:00 am PST (8:00am EST)
