Youth Cognitive, Affective, and Behavioral Health Workshop
On June 16-17, the forum will convene a public workshop on Harvesting the Scientific Investment in Prevention Science to Promote Children’s Cognitive, Affective, and Behavioral Health. The first day of the workshop will feature presentations on and discussion of facilitators and barriers to broad implementation of preventive interventions, and the roles of scientific norms, implementation strategies, and practices in care quality and health outcomes for youth at the national, state, and local levels. The first day will also include breakout group sessions for meeting participants to discuss these issues in the sector areas of (1) health care (including mental health), (2) schools, and (3) child welfare and juvenile/family justice. The second day of the workshop will include summary reports from the chairs of each of the three breakout groups and presentations on and discussion of new methodological directions in prevention science to promote children’s cognitive, affective, and behavioral health.The workshop will be held at the National Academy of Sciences building at 2101 Constitution Ave., N.W., in Washington, DC.
