Online learning, also known as e-learning, is a learning experience delivered via a computer and the Internet. The learning tools can be in the form of modules, quizzes, podcasts, slide shows, video and other learning methods. The NSVRC includes online learning tools that are educational, interactive and related to the prevention and intervention of sexual violence.

This training module, formatted as a slideshow presentation with audio, is designed to provide information and resources on the issues of stalking and sexual misconduct for resident assistants/resident advisors (RAs) on college campuses. This online program is a basic victim advocacy training offering victim services providers and allied professionals the opportunity to acquire the basic skills and knowledge they need to better assist victims of crime. Specific information is also provided to meet the needs of target populations. Each module in VAT Online is taught using interactive methodologies, case studies, exercises and other suggested activities to enhance the user’s learning. Prevention Pathways, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP)

Each year, more than 500,000 non-fatal violent crimes are committed against women. These crimes include sexual assault, rape, intimate partner violence, and elder abuse. Many of these crimes involve the use of alcohol or other drugs. The course describes these "hidden problems" and identifies risk factors, screening and assessment tools, prevention and intervention strategies, tools for clients, and legal issues.

The method of this online workbook is to help users analyze actual workplace scenarios, put themselves in the role of both victim and harasser, and covertly practice what they would do if a similar incident occurred. This workbook also takes a look at the individual - offering self-reflection on who you are, what your tendencies are, and how much you trust yourself regarding your reactions and perceptions during critical incidents.
