The participants will learn information and skills related to values and responses to victims, ethics in victim services, and standard decisionmaking process.

National Sexual Violence Resource Center

(~1 hour) This interactive online course addresses the increased vulnerability to sexual violence that can occur during and after disasters. Participants will learn about the connections between oppression, sexual violence, and disasters. With case studies from Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath, and examples from other recent calamities around the world, the module highlights the need for pre-planning to prevent and respond to sexual violence in future disasters.

A video discusses the issue of sexual violence and military. It incorporates the stories and voices of service members who experienced rape. In this video, the term Military Sexual Violence (MST) is defined in the video as the the official term for the psychological trauma that may result from military rape, sexual assault, or sexual harassment.

This 30 minute online learning tool is adapted from the Applied Research Paper, Marital Rape: New research and directions by Raquel Kennedy Bergen. Participants will learn the definition, risk factors, and effects of marital rape and will be able to identify potential intervention strategies.

Concepts such as relationship status, negotiations for intimacy, and common features in intimate sexual aggression.  These common features include manipulation, use of force, and blackmail.
