This one-day training will be useful for both new and seasoned sexual violence prevention professionals who are interested in teaching course content relating to sexual violence and/or sexual health. This training will focus specifically on the middle and high school lessons of the FLASH curriculum(link is external).We will cover the foundations of sexual health, sexual violence prevention, and healthy sexuality. We will build skills to answer difficult and value-laden questions, as well as presenting current best practices in the fields of sexual health education and sexual violence prevention.Participants will have a chance to observe portions of several FLASH lessons. This interactive and highly informative training will prepare participants to present evidence-based sexual violence prevention lessons, to better partner with sexual health educators, and understand how comprehensive sexual health education truly is sexual violence prevention.

The Sixth National Sexual Assault Response Team Training Conference will be held in Austin, Texas from May 25 - 27, 2011.
The primary focus of the Training Conference will be to expand the capacity of SARTs to promote health and healing of sexual assault survivors, hold offenders accountable for their crimes, and realize the hope of preventing future sexual violence in their communities.
The training will have an additional concentration on responding to victims of sexual assault in Native American communities.
The Office for Victims of Crime has made numerous scholarships available to encourage attendance at the conference.
