Children who have been the victims of abuse, abandonment or neglect are among the most vulnerable immigrants in our society.  These children may qualify for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), a pathway to becoming a lawful permanent resident.  The presenters will discuss the eligibility requirements for SIJS as well as the procedures for applying both affirmatively and defensively in removal proceedings.  The presenters for this webinar are Sarah Bronstein and Kristina Karpinski, Training and Legal Support Attorneys with Catholic Legal Immigration Network.  This is a free webinar.

Prevention and intervention of sexual assault remains a challenge for many institutions of higher education. This session will cover policy statements, procedures, programs, and sex offender policies.

Participants will gain a better understanding of the requirements of the Clery Act and Title IX and an understanding of the need to embrace the spirit of the law to create an optimal learning environment. Case studies will be presented for discussion on victim-centered responses. The presenters will describe innovative programming and collaboration techniques as well as tips for effectively using campus climate surveys.

The desired learning outcomes are:
• To provide the participants with a better understanding of federal laws governing college campus safety, specifically sexual assault on campus.
• Participants will leave with tangible, cost-effective/free resources and solutions for collaboration on wellness programs for any budget.
• Participants will examine case studies to evaluate compliance with campus sexual assault victims' bill of rights.
• Participants will gain knowledge on best practices relation to sexual assault awareness and prevention.

Suicide is a prevalent health care problem. It is not until we pay attention to their methods of choice, the notes they leave behind and the psychosocial aspects that lead up to successful suicides are we then able to develop and implement healthcare interventions to try to intervene. This presentation will provide information regarding suicides which have been investigated by Forensic Nurse Death Investigators involving many methods, different types of notes left behind, staging behavior and a variety of motives. The goal of this presentation is to increase the knowledge of suicide investigation to forensic nurses so that they may be better prepared to develop and implement healthcare interventions. Case studies will be presented.
