Many programs that have access to nearby universities have engaged graduate students in assisting with their evaluation efforts. It would be great to capture some promising models of this practice.
I agree - would love to hear what folks are doing. I occasionally teach an applied research methods class to masters in Justice Studies students. One year we designed a web survey for our community as well as had students conduct key informant interviews about community perceptions of our crisis center. It was really helpful information. Everyone got something from it and it was a fabulous learning experience for the students. They had a real community client to work with and did a very professional presentation at the end of the semester.
