2011 National Sexual Assault Conference Call for Workshop Proposals
The Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape (PCAR) and the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) are excited to announce a call for proposals for the National Sexual Assault Conference. Workshops on all aspects of the sexual violence continuum are being sought, including discussions focusing on counseling, medical and legal advocacy, education and outreach, sexual harassment, legal issues, intervention and prevention issues, public awareness, community organizing, policy change, and program development.
We welcome workshop proposals that focus on the uniqueness and value of sexual assault specific programs and services. Proposals that engage in a culturally competent approach to traditionally underserved populations is critical to the inclusive philosophy of this conference. Also, proposals that involve interactive learning techniques and innovative methods are encouraged
Anticipated conference attendance is approximately 500, which will include advocates, counselors, medical and nursing personnel, law enforcement officers, prosecutors, social workers, and psychologists from the throughout the United States.
