Job Description:
The Strafford County Family Justice Center (SCFJC) is collaboration among public and private agencies in Strafford County, to provide support, services and resources for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, elder abuse and exploitation. The SCFJC Advisory Council is compromised of community leaders and agency representatives.

The Executive Director will be an employee of Strafford County. The SCFJC Advisory Council will have primary and ultimate authority over FJC policy and governance, but the County will retain appointing and supervisory authority over the Executive Director and is responsible for the Executive Director's salary and benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Executive Director will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the FJC, including but not limited to the following duties:


• Launching and implementing the program as designed, approved and revised by the Advisory Committee and partner agencies and participating in on-going strategic planning for the FJC.
• Managing operations of the FJC, including implementation and adherence to policies and procedures adopted by the Advisory Committee as proposed by partner agencies.
• Coordinating and Managing services provided by FJC partner agencies to ensure effective, compassionate service to FJC clients and continually seeking best practices for client services and to resolve conflicts as the may arise among participating partners.
• Maintaining, managing and reporting on FJC fiscal matters and budgets
• Serving as primary liaison for all participating partners and FJC stakeholders.
• Recruiting, training and supervising personnel and volunteers for the FJC and ensuring their quality and competence.
• Developing relationships among participating partners and other potential partners in the community.
• Promoting the FJC locally and at the state level to build community awareness.
• Review and evaluate services, operations and client experiences continually to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.
• Raise funds through grants and philanthropy to sustain the work of the FJC.


Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field required; further education preferred including MSW, MBA, or JD.
• Minimum of three years experience is required working in a supervisory role, preferably in domestic abuse or human services field.
• A background in domestic abuse or a willingness to learn about the field is desirable; including but not limited to knowledge of proposed and current laws affecting domestic abuse victims and perpetrators is ideal.
• Must have knowledge of the Family Justice Center movement and the purpose of this model of service delivery.
• Must be an effective communicator, possessing the interpersonal and collaborative skills needed to build and foster effective relationships with partner agencies. Position also includes extensive public-speaking, grant writing and media exposure. Ideal candidate should be well versed in these arenas.
• A minimum of three years fiscal experience preparing and managing budgets and fiscal reports.

• The candidate must be prepared to travel within New Hampshire and elsewhere to promote and support the FJC.
