NIJ is looking for social science researchers interested in working in residence at NIJ while participating in the Comprehensive School Safety Initiative. The jobs are temporary, two-year details through the Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA), with some possibility to renew for one additional year.
This detail at NIJ is an exciting opportunity to become immersed in a topic of broad interest and concern to the American public – the safety of children in schools. The Comprehensive School Safety Initiative is a new research portfolio for NIJ, one ripe for building a solid base of scientific knowledge that has significant potential for influencing public policy. You will work closely with NIJ staff responsible for the design and management of the Initiative, with responsibilities ranging from establishing a research agenda to providing assistance to NIJ grantees conducting a variety of research projects to conducting small research projects in furtherance of Initiative objectives.
