Seeking two Technical Assistance Specialists for our national Rural TA and SADI projects. These positions are based in Des Moines, Iowa and will require frequent national travel. Successful candidates will have significant previous experience in the anti-sexual violence field and experience developing training and technical assistance for rural programs and dual/multi-service advocacy agencies.  

This position will develop and provide technical assistance and training on issues of sexual assault to OVW Rural Grantees that are dual/multi-service advocacy agencies, state coalitions, and Sexual Assault Demonstration Initiative (SADI) Project Sites.  Training and technical assistance will be provided in cooperation with the RSP Assistant Coordinator and other project staff and partners.  Candidate will be responsible for training and technical assistance to OVW Rural Grantees and SADE Sites, development of trainings including curriculum, creation and dissemination of resources, coordination of national conferences, and development of on-going webinar series for grantees.  Requires nationwide travel.

• Must excel at using technology driven modes of communication that enhance the delivery of information and products to grantees

• Desire for extensive travel conducting on-site technical assistance and training

• Experience delivering oral presentations to diverse professionals and audiences, including workshops, presentations, and webinars

 

Responsibilities

• Provide training to OVW Rural Grantees and SADI Project Sites in variety of venues, both in-person and web-based
• Provide technical assistance and capacity building to OVW Rural Grantees and SADI Project Sites using multiple methods
• Work under critical timeframes
• Provide multi-faceted training and project support including meeting planning, curriculum development, resource development, and more
• Responsible for grant management and reporting as requested
• Responsible for written products as needed by OVW Rural Grantees and SADI Project Sites
• Extensive national travel to conferences, meetings, and trainings
• Participate in IowaCASA staff meeting and duties as requested
• Other activities as requested

Qualifications: 
Minimum Qualifications Candidate must possess a thorough knowledge of sexual assault, issues affecting rural sexual assault service providers, and issues affecting dual/multi-service advocacy agencies. It is essential to have community based SA advocate experience; experience with dual/multi-service advocacy agencies and rural programs preferred. Position requires excellent communication and networking skills. Experience in training and technical assistance design and delivery, writing, capacity building, community partnerships, and program evaluation required. Demonstrated expertise in managing complex projects is essential. Preferred Qualifications • Candidate must possess a thorough knowledge of rural sexual assault issues and issues affecting rural sexual assault service providers and victims. Knowledge of dual/multi-service advocacy agencies is strongly preferred. • Position requires excellent communication and networking skills. • Experience in developing training, including design and delivery is required. • Additional knowledge and understanding of capacity-building strategies, community partnerships, and program evaluation required. • Demonstrated expertise in creation and delivery of training utilizing multiple modalities is essential. • Must excel at using technology driven modes of communication that enhance the delivery of information and products to rural grantees.
