The National Crime Symposium , hosted by the Institute for Social Justice, will take place from February 25 to March 1, 2013, in New Orleans, LA. Cosponsored by the National African American Drug Policy Coalition and the Success Institute of America, the symposium will focus on building trust between members of the justice system and the communities they serve. Topics include community policing, reentry, gangs, restorative justice, mental health, hate crimes, substance abuse, and bullying. Melodee Hanes, Acting Administrator of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention , will deliver a keynote address on February 28.
