
The position of Coordinator of Public Affairs is responsible for promoting the goals and objectives of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA) by interpreting and analyzing current policy issues to shape ATSA’s policy agenda and influencing ATSA messaging to the public, establishing media contacts and providing leadership for the development and production of educational materials and opportunities. This position consults with the ED, ATSA’s Board of Directors, and members about communication strategies including talking points and editorials in response to current events. This position also works with ATSA staff planning social networking strategies, website development and other electronic communications. Ongoing dialogue at the national and international level with key stakeholders in the field is important in this position as it provides leadership on framing issues related to research, management and treatment of sexual abusers. The Coordinator of Public Affairs provides support to the ATSA ED and specific ATSA committees in developing and disseminating quality and consistent position statements, articles and analysis for ATSA members and key stakeholders.
