This project highlights resources, research and tools that support the development of bystander intervention approaches to prevention.

A bystander, or witness, is someone who sees a situation but may or may not know what to do, may think others will act or may be afraid to do something.

The Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence (OAESV) and the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) was on site at the Jefferson County Juvenile Court in Steubenville, Ohio, beginning March 13, to provide insight and expertise on sexual violence and prevention‐related topics. Follow @NSVRC on Twitter under the #Steubenville hashtag for commentary.

The xChange Forum is an opportunity for those working to end sexual violence to exchange information. It brings together advocates, educators and researchers to share lessons learned that inform practice and research to create broader social change.

We know that ending sexual violence takes courage and commitment – we want to hear how you are making your community safer!  The NSVRC is on a mission to share the many ways that people have stepped in to end sexual violence.  Our hope is that these stories will inspire others to take action to create a world without violence.  We are inviting people share and read about engaged bystanders that have made a difference.
