Culturally sensitive techniques to promote resilience are offered.

Oppressive factors make LGBT people more likely to be in confinement, and more likely to experience abuse there. This toolkit covers the basics of advocating for the rights of LGBT prisoners, tips on Working with facilities), policy considerations, and combatting the incarceration of LGBT people.

This report, the product of a 2009 survey of victim assistance providers and LGBTQ anti-violence programs throughout the United States, describes widespread gaps in victim services for LGBTQ victims of crime and recommends steps to improve both the services and their accessibility.
