The manual provides a standardized set of recommendations to estimate the direct and indirect economic costs of interpersonal and self-directed violence. It is intended primarily for economists, public health experts and researchers interested in conducting studies of this nature.
The goal of this report is to provide a synthesis of the empirical literature at both the local and national levels that has provided magnitude estimates of violence against American Indian a nd Alaska Native women along with a review of the methodologies on which the estimates are based.
