We are Asian Women United of Minnesota (AWUM). We are women and men who believe in every woman’s right to a life of peace, wholeness, and happiness. We are a safe place for all women and their children dealing with domestic violence, including physical, emotional, verbal, or sexual abuse. Our mission is to end domestic violence. We provide:

• A domestic violence 24-hour emergency shelter

• Support and care for victims of domestic violence

• Legal and financial advocacy

• A 24-hour multilingual helpline at 612-724-8823

• Immigration advocacy and assistance

• Community awareness-raising about domestic violence

We are the only organization serving the South Asian Community for crisis Intervention and Prevention regardless of gender, religion and ethnicity. MaiFS offers services with a holistic approach.

Our case workers offer nonjudgmental, empathetic and culturally sensitive counseling and emotional support. If needed, a case worker or a volunteer will accompany clients to provide support, interpretation or assistance in navigating through the legal system by helping with paperwork.  Referral services are provided to Emergency shelters, Family Counselors, Therapists, Psychologists & Psychiatrists, Family Law & Immigration attorneys, General Physicians, Job training/ Employment assistance, and Social services.

SASHA Center s a sexual assault service, prevention and educational agency which is designed to provide educational/support groups to survivors of sexual assault.

SASHA Center provides:
Prevention and educational presentations/workshops to schools, communities, churches, corporations and other organizations to raise awarenessof sexual assault.

SASHA Center has a focus on:
Activism to provide opportunities for engagement within the community via rallies, marches, and open forumactivities to bring attention to the negative impact of sexual assault.

The LA VIDA Partnership program with Community Health and Social Service Center (CHASS) works to eradicate domestic violence and sexual assault in Southwest Detroit and Southeast Michigan.

Services Include:

• Community building and awareness building
• Training of agency-based service providers and clergy
• Screening and referral of families in crisis
• Confidential and non-judgmental support
• Support groups and other interventions targeting Southwest Detroit and Latinx community
• Short term counseling for women, court advocacy, and translation for monolingual Spanish speakers
• School-based prevention activities
• Holistic legal referrals for survivors of domestic violence or sexual assault
• Personal Protection Order services
• Youth services, including counseling for direct victims of dating violence and sexual assault provided at local schools

The Community Health and Social Services (CHASS) Center, Inc., is a community-based, not for profit organization formed to develop, promote, and provide comprehensive, accessible and affordable quality primary health care and support services to all residents of the community, with special emphasis on the underserved African-American and Latino population. CHASS is committed to the overall well-being of the community.

We are a private, not-for-profit, mission-driven organization that provides comprehensive services to a diverse community. While most of the clients we serve now are of Hispanic descent, we strive to offer services to a broader cultural community.

We are proud to be able to offer culturally and linguistically competent services in the areas of mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence, home-based Early Head Start and Great Parents parenting programs, Integrated Care for patients with a chronic medical condition in collaboration with St. Joseph hospital, support and interpretation for pregnant women at Clinica de la Mujer, and Parent Education workshops.

Bay Mills Indian Community provides mental health and substance abuse services along with programs that includes public awareness, education, training, and advocacy services for crime victims. Bay Mills also offers a Journey to Healing Program to provide comprehensive support services to survivors and their families of domestic and sexual violence along with providing public awareness, education and training to the community.
