This exercise is designed to allow participants to experience the issues and emotions survivors of sexual violence face each day. Participants become the survivor, and will learn about the different responses survivors receive from family, friends, and community members as they weave their way through their character’s story. This exercise leaves the participant with a better understanding of the true complexity of sexual violence and the lasting impact it has on the survivor and their loved ones.

Spend an hour engaging about the topic of power, control and sexual violence. Examine how this topic is harming men and women and what we all might do to lessen the burden.

Experts estimate that 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually abused before their 18th birthdays. A child’s safety is an adult’s job. We make sure our children wear seat belts. We walk them across busy streets. It’s adults’ responsibility to also protect children from child sexual abuse.
