Monica Ramirez - Now what? Lets talk about a movement.

Monica Ramirez will be coming to campus to speak about “Esperanza: The Immigrant Woman’s Legal Initiative. Esperanza, which means, “hope” in Spanish, focuses on the issues of harassment and sexual assault of farm worker women. Ms Ramirez will share some of the history of the farm worker movement and the connection to today’s initiatives and what we are able to do to today to support this movement.

Call for abstracts is open at until October 7, 2010.
Seminars have been designed primarily for professionals in mental health, medicine and nursing, law, law enforcement, education, prevention, research, advocacy, child protection services, and allied fields. All aspects of child maltreatment will be addressed including prevention, assessment, intervention and treatment with victims, perpetrators and families affected by physical, sexual and psychological abuse and neglect. Cultural considerations will also be addressed.
