Join us for the 1st SAFEta Regional Training: Creating a Community Protocol for Sexual Assault Forensic Examinations, May 8th and 9th in beautiful Tallahassee Florida! This is a FREE two day training opportunity based on the National Protocol for Sexual Assault Medical Forensic Examinations. Community team members who are working to create or enhance existing community medical forensic examination protocols are encouraged to attend. FCASV is sponsoring a 40 hour SANE training at the Deauville Beach Resort in Miami Beach, FL June 16-20, 2008.
The lead trainer and content consultant is Kimberly Womack, DHSc, MSN, ARNP-C, CEN, SANE-A.

The training is geared toward medical professionals: ARNPs, RNs, and physicians. The training will also be valuable to prosecutors, law enforcement officers, victim advocates and crime lab analysts.

We have an outstanding line-up of keynote speakers and workshops: Anna Salter, Ph D—What Works: Reducing Sexual Offending Dr. Salter will address how different sex offender management and treatment methods succeed or fail in reducing recidivism. She will examine the impact of more severe sanctions, incarceration vs. probation, longer sentencing and intensive supervision in lowering the number of sexual crimes. Michelle Garcia, MPP—Stalking and Sexual Violence Ms. Garcia will present on the connection between stalking and sexual assault, exploring both pre-and post-assault stalking. She will discuss ways in which this information impacts our responses to victims and how recognizing the intersection of stalking and sexual assault can contribute to greater offender accountability and decreased victim blaming.
