“Breakfast with Leaders”

An open invitation to local leaders be it legislative, religious, educational and community, to talk about the “Elephant in the Room”. We will be addressing sexual violence and talking about contemporary trends in anti-sexual violence law. Invite is also open to local law enforcement agencies, attorneys and other groups that would be impacted by pending or recently passed legislation.

We will also highlight local agencies and organizations that offer services and programs to aid and support those in need.

 

Part II     6-9pm

“Showcase”

An art exhibit featuring local artist including painters, photographers, sculptures, poets & musicians.

This will be a relaxed but passionate exhibit of art in its many beautiful forms all to express the hearts of victims, survivors & overcomers… giving hope, grace and empowerment to all.

After decades of effective advocacy, policy changes, and direct service provision, myths about violence against women and victim blaming persist and impact the effectiveness of the criminal justice system's response to victims and sirvivors.  Research indicates thta advocates and law enforcement offers are effective expert witnesses, and that they and court personnel can affect change regarding the perceptions of these crimes.  This conference aims to address that gap by providing training to increase the use of expert testimony indomestic violence cases.Early rate registration fee is $300.00.Registration fee is $325.00 after December 13, 2012.Registration fee includes: all workshop sessions, conference materials and continuing education document
