MaleSurvivor, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to overcoming sexual victimization of boys and men through its membership program and weekend workshops has recently announced the launch of Dare to Dream Toronto. This program was developed in response to the Emmy-nominated Oprah Winfrey Show segment highlighting male sexual abuse and will focus on bringing a message of hope and healing while offering support for abuse survivors in several local markets. The free event will feature a screening of the Oprah Winfrey Show segment, "Two Hundred Adult Men Who Were Molested Come Forward", a facilitated panel discussion, and an opportunity to learn about local resources and support groups with a goal of providing male survivors with a safe and comfortable environment to join others in lifting the veil of secrecy and shame from their experience.

There is no fee to attend this event but space is limited. To reserve a spot, contact Jacqueline Coombs at 416-729-4403. For more information about male sexual victimization, or to learn more about MaleSurvivor’s Dare to Dream program, contact Trisha Massa at ytamassa@aol.com/800-738-4181.
