Arizona: Language Access

According to census data, about 26.6% (1,957,546 people) exclusively speak a language other than English at home. 8.1% of people (559,000 people) are Limited English Proficiency (LEP).  12.8% of persons live below the poverty level. About 2.8% (88,318 people) are classified as having a hearing disability  According to the CDC, more than 159,000 people identify as being blind or having a severe difficulty seeing even with glasses. 12.8% of the population lives below the poverty level and 13.1% of adults are classified as illiterate.
