The #MeToo movement has confirmed what those of us doing anti-sexual violence work have known for years — that sexual violence is prevalent, it can happen to anyone, and the impact on survivors is long-lasting. For the general public, however, this information has been a wake-up call that has left many wondering what can be done to prevent another #MeToo story. 

In order to capture the scope of the Sexual Assault Awareness Month campaign, we at NSVRC wanted to shine one final spotlight on the events, social media activism, and high-profile media engagement that made this year’s SAAM so successful.

One person can make a tremendous difference, and countless people are making a difference, all over the country, every day. 

Workplaces are important aspects of our society – places with cultures of their own that can play a large role in promoting healthy communities for both employees and those who patronize the business. And with the #MeToo movement shining a light on the prevalence of workplace sexual harassment, there has never been a better time for workplaces to get involved in Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
