Sexual Violence Experts on Site at Cosby Trial in Pennsylvania Beginning Mon., April 9
HARRISBURG, Pa. — Experts from the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) will be on site at the Montgomery County Courthouse beginning Monday, April 9 for Bill Cosby’s trial on three counts of aggravated indecent assault of a woman in his Montgomery County home more than a decade ago. Kristen Houser, NSVRC Chief Public Affairs Officer, and Laura Palumbo, NSVRC Communications Director, will be available to provide expert perspective and important context on sexual violence, including victim behavior and trauma, offender dynamics, testimony of additional victims, and the use of drugs and alcohol to perpetrate sexual violence, to members of the media covering the trial.
Kristen will be on site at the trial from Monday, April 9, through Wednesday, April 11, and Laura will be on site beginning Thursday, April 12. One or both of them will also be available by phone for stories before, during or after the trial.
The trial also falls during Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) and comes in the wake of a widespread national conversation about sexual violence set in motion by the #MeToo movement.
For NSVRC’s expertise and coverage from Cosby’s initial trial in June 2017, please visit http://www.nsvrc.org/cosby. NSVRC will publish additional updates to the page as this case moves forward.
