Florida: Language Access

According to census data, about 29.8% (6,628,957 people) exclusively speak a language other than English at home. 11.9% of people (2,465,000 people) are Limited English Proficiency (LEP). About 1.8% (217,794 people) are classified as having a hearing disability According to the CDC, more than 480,000 people identify as being blind or having a severe difficulty seeing even with glasses. 13.1% of the population lives below the poverty level and 19.7% of adults are classified as illiterate.
