End Violence Against Women International (EVAWI)

About this Organization

End Violence Against Women International (EVAWI) strives to provide victim centered, multi-disciplinary training and expert consultation on sexual assault and domestic violence. It seeks to: cross train all disciplines with an emphasis on law enforcement investigation and police responses; encourage a coordinated response by members of domestic violence councils, SARTs and other related stakeholders; increase reporting by providing responders with data that increases their ability to effectively respond (emphasis on nonstranger sexual assault); and support and conduct research on sexual assault of females age 12 and older.

Crimes Against Children Research Center (CCRC)

About this Organization

The goal of the Crimes Against Children Research Center (CCRC) is to combat crimes against children by providing high quality research and statistics to the public, policy makers, law enforcement personnel, and other child welfare practitioners. CCRC is concerned with research about both the nature of such crimes – including child abduction, homicide, rape, assault, and physical and sexual abuse – and their impact. Additionally, graduate students are actively involved in the research activities of the laboratory.

Communities Against Violence Network (CAVNET)

About this Organization

Founded and operated by the former Special Counsel to the Violence Against Women Office, CAVNET enhances collaboration among rape crisis centers, law enforcement, prosecutors, advocates, and others, and addresses sexual assault, rape, incest, domestic violence, youth violence, and victimization of people with disabilities, through an international network of professionals. They operate a comprehensive online database, an electronic mailing list, and an online voice-enabled forum for survivors, who meet and communicate in real time using their computers.

Commission on Legal Problems of the Elderly

About this Organization

The Commission on Legal Problems of the Elderly (Commission) is an entity of the American Bar Association (ABA). Its goal is to examine and respond to law-related needs of older persons in the United States through policy development, education, and the provision of technical assistance. The Commission does not provide direct legal services or make referrals to private lawyers. The Commission can, however, help connect people with the free legal services/legal aid programs serving older persons in the area in which they live.

Clearinghouse on Abuse & Neglect of the Elderly (CANE)

About this Organization

The Clearinghouse on Abuse & Neglect of the Elderly produces annotated bibliographies based on a computerized search of more than 100 key words in the area of elder abuse. Clan Star, Inc.

About this Organization

The mission of Clan Star is devoted to improving justice to strengthen the sovereignty of Indigenous women through legal, legislative and policy initiatives, and, education and awareness. Clan Star provides technical assistance, training and consultation to Indian Tribes and organizations in the development of public policy strategies addressing violence against women. CSI is a technical assistance provider to recipients of the OVW’s Tribal Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Coalitions grant program. Technical assistance is designed to increase organizational capacity to address the unmet needs of American Indian and Alaska Native women by supporting the development of the leadership and/or organizational membership to effect social change and systemic reform in response to violence against Indian women. Clan Star’s technical assistance has specialized focus on the intersection of federal, tribal and state laws as those laws impact American Indian victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

The Wellesley Centers for Women (WCW) unites the Center for Research on Women and the Stone Center for Developmental Services and Studies in an interdisciplinary community of scholars engaged in research, training, analysis and action. VAWnet – The National Online Resource Center on Violence Against Women

About this Organization

The mission of VAWnet is to harness and use electronic communication technology to end violence against women. VAWnet is funded through a Cooperative Agreement with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and is housed within the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence (NRCDV). VAWnet is an easily accessible and comprehensive collection of full-text, searchable electronic resources on domestic violence, sexual violence and related issues. VAWnet's primary goal is to support local, state and national violence against women prevention and intervention strategies that are safe, effective, and address the self-identified issues of consequence to victims and survivors.
