The Safe Schools Coalition, Inc. (SSC) is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to helping make our communities humane places to live and work. The SSC’s mission is to unite national business, labor, governmental, community, religious, and student organizations in a common effort to reduce violence, promote health, and foster skills and attitudes for civic and economic responsibilities without sacrificing fundamental principals of democracy. The major function and purpose of the SSC is to foster networks and free expression among organizations, their members, and others to share and learn from each other.

Sacred Circle: National Resource Center to End Violence Against Native Women

About this Organization

Operated by Cangleska, Inc., Sacred Circle aids tribes and tribal organizations to stop violence against Native women. It addresses violence against Native women in the context of the unique historical, jurisdictional, and cultural issues that American Indian/Alaska Native Nations face. It provides the focal point to establish a multi-faceted systemic response to facilitate non-violence in American Indian/Alaska Native communities, and to establish a domestic violence and sexual assault agenda for American Indian/Alaska Native tribes and tribal agencies. It also provides access to culturally specific information, materials, and specialized training institutes. The primary audience of Sacred Circle includes more than 500 federally recognized American Indian/Alaska native nations in the United States. Its focus is directed toward professional providers serving these communities, including tribal law enforcement personnel (judges, prosecutors and court workers), probation officers, shelter advocates, and batterer intervention providers.

The National Women’s Law Center has worked since its inception in 1972 to protect and advance the progress of women and girls at work, in school, and in virtually every aspect of their lives. The Center’s staff brings extensive expertise to major subject areas of family economic security, health, employment and education. The Center uses a variety of tools to maximize its impact in bringing women’s concerns to public policy makers, advocates and the public alike, including public policy research, monitoring and analysis; litigation, advocacy and coalition-building; and public education. One of the issues for the National Women’s Law Center is sexual harassment.

The National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) serves as the nation’s principle information and resource center regarding all aspects of sexual violence. It provides national leadership, consultation and technical assistance by generating and facilitating the development and flow of information on sexual violence intervention and prevention strategies. The NSVRC works to address the causes and impact of sexual violence through collaboration, prevention efforts and the distribution of resources.

The NSVRC provides a wide range of technical assistance to programs funded under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Office on Violence Against Women. Learn more about us on our website.

About this Organization

The National Sexual Assault Coalition Resource Sharing Project (RSP) was created to help state sexual assault coalitions across the country access the resources they need in order to develop and thrive. The project is designed to provide technical assistance, support, and to facilitate peer-driven resources for all statewide sexual assault coalitions. The RSP recognizes the needs of all coalitions, especially those designated as new or emerging, regarding issues of organizational growth, professional development, and policy development. The RSP is made possible by a grant from the United States Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women.

The National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA) is a private, nonprofit organization of victim and witness assistance practitioners, criminal justice professionals, researchers, former victims, and others, committed to recognizing victims’ rights in four areas: national and local legislative advocacy, direct victim assistance, member support, and professional development. NOVA coordinates the National Crisis Response Team and the National Crime Victim Information and Referral Hotline.
