Maitri primarily helps individuals & families from South Asia facing domestic violence, emotional abuse, cultural alienation, human trafficking or family conflict. Maitri is non-discriminatory in its services with respect to gender, race, color, religion, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation and all classifications protected by applicable state or federal discrimination laws.

We are a hotline for runaway/homeless youth and their families. We’re here 24/7. There is always someone available to listen and offer confidential, non-directive and non-judgemental support.

We’re trained to help. Each team member is prepared to listen to your story, help you handle a crisis and guide you to solutions that will improve your situation.

We offer objective information and the support necessary for you to make personal and private decisions.

Since 1974, our trained health center staff and volunteers have been available to discuss a wide range of issues including:

• Birth Control

• Emergency Contraception 

• Sexually Transmitted Infections

• Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy 

• Pregnancy Testing

• Pregnancy Options 

• Abortion Services

• Sexual Health and Sexuality

• Other aspects of reproductive health 

We also offer referrals to providers within our community that offer services not provided by PPLM. 

The Nevada CARES [Consent. Awareness. Relationships. Education for Students] project is based at the University of Nevada, Reno’s (UNR) Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies (CASAT).  The project focuses on developing and expanding outreach and education on interpersonal violence to students, faculty and staff across the UNR campus.

With the barriers affecting access to treatment by members of diverse ethnic and racial groups, the Loveland Therapy Fund provides financial assistance to Black women and girls seeking therapy nationally.

StrongHearts Native Helpline is a culturally appropriate domestic, dating and sexual violence helpline for Native and Alaskan Americans, offering support and referrals to resources available 24/7 that is safe, confidential and anonymous.

24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, the National Domestic Violence Hotline provides essential tools and support to help survivors of domestic violence so they can live their lives free of abuse.

Contacts to The Hotline can expect highly-trained, expert advocates to offer free, confidential, and compassionate support, crisis intervention information, education, and referral services in over 200 languages.

The National Human Trafficking Hotline connects victims and survivors of sex and labor trafficking with services and supports to get help and stay safe. The Trafficking Hotline also receives tips about potential situations of sex and labor trafficking and facilitates reporting that information to the appropriate authorities in certain cases.
