The Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) is the federal focal point for crime victims’ issues. It also administers the Crime Victims Fund deposits authorized under the Victims of Crime Act. These funds support a variety of activities including the victim assistance and victim compensation grants, training and technical assistance to victim service and criminal justice system professionals, and services for federal crime victims and Native American organizations. OVC works with national, international, state, military, tribal victim assistance, and criminal justice agencies, as well as other professional organizations, to promote fundamental rights and comprehensive services for crime victims.

The Office of Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) provides national leadership, coordination, and resources to prevent and respond to juvenile delinquency and victimization. OJJDP accomplishes this by supporting states and local communities in their efforts to develop and implement effective and coordinated prevention and intervention programs and improve the juvenile justice system so that it protects the public safety, holds offenders accountable, and provides treatment and rehabilitative services tailored to the needs of families and each individual juvenile.

The Office of Minority Health Resource Center (OMHRC) is a national resource center and referral service on minority health. Established in 1987 by the Office of Minority Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, OMHRC collects and distributes information on a variety of health topics. These include cardiovascular disease, substance abuse, cancer, violence, diabetes, infant mortality, and HIV/AIDS.

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) is committed to preventing human trafficking and ensuring that victims of all forms of human trafficking have access to the services they need. The site offers Blog posts, a Featured Resource, the opportunity to report a tip or request services, and visitors can subscribe to Human Trafficking Email and News Alerts.

We know human trafficking destroys lives and threatens our Nation’s security, public health, and the rule of law. We care because our programs serve some of the Nation’s most vulnerable children, youth, and families. Together, we can assist survivors and prevent human trafficking. Helping victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault is one of the top priorities of the Ohio Hispanic Coalition. We have a support group and two full-time Promotoras de Salud who exclusively work with Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault cases. These Promotoras fulfill many functions while working with these cases; they become victim advocates, educators, and caseworkers to ensure that the victim has access to every legal, medical, and social service available to them.  The program places an emphasis on self empowerment, allowing the victim to be in charge of their decisions, and a strong focus on informing victims of their legal rights, even if they choose not to pursue any legal action.

One Colorado is the state’s leading advocacy organization dedicated to advancing equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) Coloradans and their families. We effectively advocate for LGBTQ Coloradans and their families by lobbying the General Assembly, the executive branch, and local governments on issues like safe schools, transgender equality, relationship recognition, and LGBTQ health and human services.
